VISCODERM® Hydrobooster from IBSA Derma is a skinbooster of hyaluronic acid cross-linked to a low percentage, formulated from two molecular weights (1,000 and 2,000 kDa) according to the company's hybrid technology. Unlike a filler, it provides no volume and does not modify the contour: it is applied in the dermis to tighten and smooth the superficial wrinkles of the dynamic areas of the face —perioral, periocular and forehead—, where constant muscle movement limits the performance of conventional biostimulants.
- Cross-linked HA 25 mg/g
- Molecular weights 1,000 and 2,000 kDa
- Contents 1 syringe × 1.1 ml
- Needles 2 × 29G ½"
- Protocol 2 sessions / 8 weeks
Composition and technology
- Cross-linked hyaluronic acid: 25 mg/g, obtained by bacterial fermentation, of non-animal origin.
- Degree of cross-linking: deliberately low. Cross-linking provides intradermal persistence and resistance to enzymatic degradation, but it is kept low in order to preserve a fluid gel, without capacity for projection and without risk of nodule formation in areas of high mobility.
- Hybrid technology of two molecular weights: it combines chains of 1,000 kDa and 2,000 kDa. The coexistence of both fractions is the element the manufacturer calls the two expressions of hyaluronic acid: the higher molecular weight fraction sustains hydration and structure, the lower molecular weight fraction favours diffusion and tissue integration.
- Hydrolift® Action: an IBSA Derma concept describing the combined action of intradermal hydration and stretching (hydro-stretch) of superficial lines, with recovery of skin elasticity and structure.
- Positioning: it is not a dermal filler. It acts on texture, elasticity and radiance without altering the facial contours.
Indications and treatment areas
Indicated to restore intradermal hydration and to improve skin structure and elasticity, with a specific focus on areas of movement.
- Perioral area: barcode lines, perioral lines
- Periocular area: eye contour, superficial lines
- Forehead and nasal dorsum
- Dehydrated skin and skin with altered texture
- Acne scars
The manufacturer places the main indication in patients with signs of moderate to advanced ageing (Glogau scale types II and III).
Technique and treatment protocol
- Injection plane: intradermal.
- Needle: 29G ½" (13 mm), 2 units included. Luer-Lock connection.
- Technique: intradermal deposits following the orientation of the lines of the area treated; gentle massage afterwards to even out the product.
- Dose: 1 syringe per session.
- Protocol: 2 sessions at an interval of 2 months (8 weeks).
- Maintenance: repetition of the cycle twice a year.
- Compatible with combined protocols of the IBSA Derma range, both with bio-remodelling (Profhilo) and with cross-linked fillers (Aliaxin), planning the sequence according to clinical judgement.
