Sunekos® 200 is the patented biostimulator from Professional Dietetics that combines low density hyaluronic acid with six amino acid precursors of the extracellular matrix. Unlike a conventional hyaluronic acid skinbooster, it supplies the substrates for collagen and elastin synthesis. It is the first-line product of the range and is applied with a fixed schedule of four sessions.
- Formula HA + 6 amino acids
- HA density low
- Contents 2 vials (1 treatment)
- Needles 27G–30G, 12–13 mm
- Protocol 4 sessions every 7–10 days
Composition and technology
- Hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) of low density, non-cross-linked.
- Patented complex of six amino acids: glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, L-lysine HCl, L-valine and L-alanine, sterile and apyrogenic.
Rationale of the formula: glycine, proline and lysine are the predominant residues of the collagen triple helix; the set of six amino acids supplies the precursors for collagen and elastin synthesis, while the hyaluronic acid acts as a vehicle and as the aqueous component of the extracellular matrix. The stated objective of the product is the regeneration of the dermal extracellular matrix, not the provision of volume.
The product is supplied in two vials that are combined immediately before injection. Consult the pack labelling for the exact content of each vial and for the exact proportions of the formula, which the manufacturer keeps proprietary.
Differences between the injectable references
| Sunekos® 200 | Low density hyaluronic acid + 6 amino acids. First-line product, suitable for all dermal types. Areas: face and periocular area |
|---|---|
| Sunekos® 1200 | Medium-high density hyaluronic acid (1200 kDa) + the same amino acids. Used as a "cushion" or structural scaffold preceding the protocol with Sunekos® 200. Area: face |
| Sunekos® Performa | Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid with a new proportion of the six amino acids. Pre-mixed format. Areas: face, periocular area and neck |
| Sunekos® Body | Body reference for stretch marks, laxity and roughness. Areas: arms, abdomen, knees and inner thigh |
Indications and treatment areas
Sunekos® 200 is the first-line product of the range and, according to the manufacturer, is suitable for all dermal types.
Areas covered in the manufacturer's techniques manual: face, neck, décolleté, hands, dark circles and eyelid bags, forehead and inner thigh. The manufacturer's product page states the face and the periocular area as areas of use.
Technique and treatment protocol
Standard protocol: 4 treatments with Sunekos® 200 at intervals of 7 to 10 days.
- Maintenance: repeat at 6 months. Manufacturer's alternative: 2 treatments every 3 or 4 months, repeating the full protocol of 4 treatments every 12 months.
- Needle: 27G–30G of 12–13 mm.
- Plane: mid-deep dermis.
- Technique: micro-bolus or linear retrograde injection, 0.1 ml per point.
- IFT (Interstitial Fluid Technique): proprietary technique developed by the medical team of Professional Dietetics. Linear retrograde injection at 45°, a series of boluses about 1.5 cm apart, in the direction of the interstitial flow, with subsequent massage following that flow. Centrifugal direction for a lifting effect in relatively young, rounded faces; centripetal direction for a volumising effect in narrow or deflated faces, generally in patients over 45 years of age.
- Forehead: 25G or 27G 50 mm cannula, deep dermis, fanning technique, half a vial per side, sessions every 14 days.
- Dark circles and bags: 3 sessions at 14-day intervals, half a vial per side, 0.1 ml per point.
- Combination with Sunekos® 1200: in thin skin with laxity and marked wrinkles, 1 treatment with Sunekos® 1200 as a scaffold followed —on the same day or at most 1 or 2 days later— by 3 or 4 treatments of Sunekos® 200 at intervals of 7–10 days.
Anatomical caution in the periocular area: the manufacturer warns that the orbital septum must never be reached. There is no vascularisation over the orbital septum and any injection into it may cause damage. In zone A inject parallel to the skin and very superficially; in zone B inject perpendicularly until bone is contacted. Inspect the skin to avoid small-calibre veins and reduce the number of points if necessary.
