ALIAXIN® LV Lips Volume from IBSA Derma is the reference in the Aliaxin range formulated for lip volumising. It provides 25 mg/ml of cross-linked hyaluronic acid and 2.5 mg/ml of free hyaluronic acid, with chains of 1,000 and 2,000 kDa, in a gel designed to integrate into the submucosa of the lip and provide volume without compromising mobility or natural expression.

  • Cross-linked HA 25 mg/ml
  • Free HA 2.5 mg/ml
  • Molecular weights 1,000 and 2,000 kDa
  • Contents 2 syringes × 1 ml
  • Needles 2 × 27G 13 mm + 2 × 27G 19 mm
Composition and technology
  • Cross-linked hyaluronic acid: 25 mg/ml, of non-animal origin, obtained by bacterial fermentation.
  • Free (non-cross-linked) hyaluronic acid: 2.5 mg/ml. It facilitates extrusion and provides immediate hydration to the lip tissue, which is particularly sensitive to dehydration.
  • Molecular weights: combination of 1,000 kDa and 2,000 kDa chains.
  • Cross-linking with BDDE at a low percentage: degree of cross-linking below 10 %, with a BDDE residue below 0.1 ppm. A lightly cross-linked gel better withstands the continuous mechanical stress of the lip without forming nodules or palpable edges.
  • SHYALT technology: IBSA's proprietary method for obtaining ultrapure hyaluronic acid.
  • Bio-redefinition concept: IBSA formulates the range to compensate for the physiological reduction of endogenous hyaluronic acid while preserving natural expression, rather than seeking a purely volumetric correction.
  • The formulation does not include a local anaesthetic. In the lips, prior topical anaesthesia or nerve block is recommended.
Differences between the references in the Aliaxin range
Aliaxin FL — Fine Lines25 mg/ml; 500 + 1,000 kDa; lift 45 Pa — mid/deep dermis: fine lines, lip contour, perioral wrinkles
Aliaxin GP — Global Performance25 mg/ml; 1,000 + 2,000 kDa; lift 95 Pa — deep dermis/subcutaneous: nasolabial fold, glabella, marionette lines, malar and chin volume
Aliaxin EV — Essential Volume25 mg/ml; 1,000 + 2,000 kDa; lift 162 Pa — deep subcutaneous: zygomatic region, jawline, temples
Aliaxin SV — Superior Volume25 mg/ml; 2,300 kDa; lift 295 Pa — deep/supraperiosteal plane: cheekbones, mandibular angle, chin
Aliaxin LV — Lips Volume25 mg/ml; 1,000 + 2,000 kDa — labial submucosa: lip volumising

The five references share the same hyaluronic acid concentration (25 mg/ml cross-linked + 2.5 mg/ml free). What differentiates them is the combination of molecular weights and the resulting rheological behaviour, which determines the injection plane and the indication. In the lips, LV covers the volume of the lip body and FL the contour work and fine perioral lines: they are complementary products, not alternatives.

Indications and treatment areas

Injectable implant indicated for the harmonious augmentation of lip volume and the treatment of imperfections of the perioral region.

  • Volumising of the body of the upper and lower lip
  • Projection and definition of Cupid's bow
  • Perioral wrinkles
  • Nasolabial fold and facial wrinkles of medium depth
  • Facial scars and depressed acne scars
Technique and treatment protocol
  • Injection plane: labial submucosa for volumising; deep dermis in the perioral region.
  • Needles included: 2 × 27G × 13 mm and 2 × 27G × 19 mm.
  • Technique: linear retrograde injection from the commissure towards the centre, or microdeposit technique, with subsequent manual moulding to homogenise the product.
  • Aspiration and retrograde injection in accordance with the usual clinical protocol: the superior and inferior labial arteries run in the submucosal plane, so the vascular risk in this area is significant.
  • Never inject intravascularly. Do not apply in areas with permanent implants.
  • Do not combine in the same session with laser, deep peeling or dermabrasion.
  • In patients with a history of labial herpes, antiviral prophylaxis is recommended according to clinical judgement.
